The truncated basket strainer has several applications and it comes in the standard lengths that have been designed to fit in shorter spaces than the cone strainers while still maintaining the same or more open area. These strainers are typically used temporarily for liquid or gas equipment or for piping systems, but they can also be used permanently in some applications.
