At Weamco, we manufacture and stock a wide range of pipeline strainers to protect critical equipment from particulate contamination and flow disruption. Whether your system requires horizontal, vertical, fabricated, or cast strainers—we have the solution.
The FV-112 is ideal for pumps, flow meters, compressors, and control valve protection in horizontal pipeline runs. It offers low pressure drop, a high-capacity basket, a wide range of basket media choices, and a maintenance-friendly design. Weamco stocks sizes from 2 inches through 12 inches up to ANSI 600#. Baskets are built to customer-specific requirements, with a typical lead time of 1 to 2 weeks ARO. The standard design is based on ASME B31.4, although other design codes are available. Many quick-opening closure options are available (see Bulletin OA-112). Open area ratios are based on using a 40% open area basket media (see Bulletin AC-112). Larger line sizes and custom designs are also available.
The FT-112 is commonly used for pumps, flow meters, control valve protection, and in areas where ground clearance is limited or piping and equipment elevations differ. It delivers low pressure drop, high basket capacity, and ease of maintenance. This specialty strainer allows the inlet and/or outlet nozzle elevation to be modified to fit your layout. The standard design is based on ASME B31.4, with other design codes available. Quick-opening closure options are supported (see Bulletin OA-112), and the open area ratio is based on 40% open area basket media (see Bulletin AC-112). Weamco offers custom builds and larger line sizes for more complex applications.
Designed for pumps, flow meters, compressors, and control valve protection in oil and gas systems, the FH-112 features a low pressure drop, high-capacity basket, and user-friendly maintenance. It follows a standard ASME B31.4 design with availability for other codes. Many quick-opening closure options are offered (see Bulletin OA-112), with open area ratios based on 40% open area basket media (see Bulletin AC-112). Larger line sizes and custom designs are also available, making it a strong choice for demanding environments.
The TEE-112 is ideal for pumps, gas regulators, compressors, filter banks, HVAC, water services, boiler feed water, and industrial piping systems. It is often used in relatively clean product service, where a blowdown is sometimes required for basket cleaning. The standard design follows ASME B31.4, and a wide range of quick-opening closure options are available (see Bulletin OA-112). It uses basket media with a 40% open area ratio (see Bulletin AC-112), and can be customized for larger line sizes or special system requirements.
Used in systems such as pumps, HVAC, water service, boiler feed, and general industrial piping, the FY-112 fabricated Y strainer is suitable for clean service applications, where blowdown may be needed for cleaning. The design conforms to ASME B31.4, with other codes available. Quick-opening closure options (see Bulletin OA-112) and 40% open area basket media (see Bulletin AC-112) are standard. Custom configurations and larger sizes can be built to match your project needs.
Our WM Series simplex basket strainers are used across a wide variety of industries, including process, power, chemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper, metals and mining, and water and waste treatment. They support filtration levels down to 40 microns and come in compact, high-capacity configurations. Materials of construction include cast iron, bronze, carbon steel, and stainless steel. End connection types include flat face (FF), raised face (RF), butt weld (BW), threaded (NPT), and socket weld (SW). These strainers are built for reliability in high-demand environments.
The WM Series cast Y strainers feature a streamlined design for low pressure drop, generously sized screens, and compact end-to-end dimensions. They are available in a wide variety of sizes and materials. To install: ensure all machined surfaces are free of defects and the interior is clean. For horizontal pipelines, the strainer should be positioned so the drain connection faces downward. Flanged connections should be tightened gradually in a back-and-forth, clockwise motion, and an appropriate sealant should be used for threaded types. Once installed, gradually increase pressure and check for leaks. If a start-up screen is used, pressure drop should be carefully monitored.
The BP-112 truncated basket strainer is a temporary option for liquid or gas systems, often used during start-up or when a short-length permanent strainer is needed. Standard lengths are designed to fit in less space than cone strainers, while still maintaining similar or greater open area. The outer diameter is built to fit inside the flange bolt hole circle, with full-face options that include bolt holes. The inner diameter is designed to fit inside standard weight pipe for 150# and 300# ASME, or extra strong pipe for 600# ASME. Higher pressure ratings may require pipe wall or schedule specification. Additional details are available in Bulletin CP-112.
Cone strainers such as the CP-112 are typically used temporarily during start-up, flushing, or system testing. They are designed to fit between a weld neck flange and a long-radius weld elbow. The outer diameter fits inside the flange bolt hole circle and can be provided with a full-face and bolt holes. The inner diameter fits standard weight pipe for 150# and 300# ASME, and extra strong pipe for 600# ASME. For high-pressure ratings, the pipe wall or schedule must be advised. Additional technical data is available in Bulletin BP-112.
